Delaina just told me about the COOLEST technique that she uses all the time!!! She has a transparency sheet (you know, those plastic pages they write and erase on for school projectors) which she runs through her printer. She prints in "mirror image" and then rubs the phrase right onto her card. The results look like a stamp or rub-0n. This is a huge money saver (no more buying phrase stamps!!!) and a great way to get any font or size you want for a phrase. WOW WOW WOW. I'm so going to do this from now on :) I always wondered how she did her phrases and now I know. Genious.

Feb. Card Swap
So I am in AWE of the talents of this card swap group!! It is out of controL!!!! I love it. Tammy and Jen came through with awesome cards for their first month.
Here we go:
This is Tammy's card. I think her paper is GORGEOUS and I love the stitching.
Here is my card. I loved it until I saw the others ;) I used stamped and George.
Here is Jen's card. She used the cuttlebug for the top half, so it is actually embossed!! (though you can't completely tell in the pic). That is soo cool :) Cute colors too!
Here is Delaina's card. Once again, I'm amazed. I think I'm going to have to persuade her to get her stuff published!
Here is Laura's. She is totally kicking butt with the DSS! Love the paper too.
Also, this wasn't for card swap but I thought it was SOO cute that I wanted to post it. These are Baby Faith's bday invites:

My Feb Post
I have to admit I am a little behind in my posting. In fact we should just rename this blog Marcie's craft blog because she is the main poster. Not to worry blog readers I am about to make up the lack by posting tons of pictures! Granted most of them are not of my work but I have to say I have been crafting a little more than usual this last couple of weeks. It started with stuff for the ward valentines party and the 200 little people. I still am mad that I forgot to take a picture of them before they were taken away. I do have an update on them. After the party the primary president took them and they are being used on the bulletin board to represent each of the childen during their birthday month. They even asked me if I could make a few more, 20 or so if they don't have enough. I said yes. (I guess several had already been thrown out/ruined by the end of the party) After all that work twenty is a breeze, not to mention I am finally not as sick of them as I was. Of course that would be just in time to have to make a whole bunch of them for Shaylies birthday. Let the pictures begin!

Valentines gift
Trent and I have a $5 limit for gifts each year for V-Day so I generally make him a card and then some treat like dark-chocolate dipped nuts. This year, rather than make a card I decided to do a scrapbook layout -- something that will be looked at much more than my cards ;) I know this isn't incredibly original -- I think every scrapper has (or will eventually) do one version of this. Still it turned out pretty cute considering I made it only from scraps and things I had around the house (those are my fav. layouts! Actually using the stuff I have :) Just a side note: TRICIA, you haven't posted yet for Feb. You're slacking!
The embellishments are silver heart brads and two heart charms. Two scraps of ribbon and the rest is paper. I typed my strips on the paper using all different fonts which looks really fun (though you can't tell in the pic). The title is Stamped and looks a little weird becuase I didn't have a lot of paper or time to mess with it. I would have used a dif. pic than a wedding one, but that is the last couple pic (professional) that I have of us. Lame huh? :)

Why I love Stamped
Initially I wanted the Stamped cart because of the tall skinny feature. Since purchasing it, however, I have fallen in love with the "Shorty" feature which makes things jagged and thick. I think this is one of the most versatile fonts because it looks great on both formal and fun/informal layouts. Here are some examples of my new favorite cart:

More Delaina magical cards
These are cards that Delaina designed and created en mass for her sisters baby shower. I love the different textures that she used to give it more visual interest. Also, I love the unique colors. Baby blue can be kind of overdone :)
